e-Store101.com is project that I’ve been kicking around for years. Hopefully, the information published on these pages will help and inspire others to realize their dream of owning and running a profitable online web store.
I’ve been building and managing websites since the early days of the internet.. way back in 1995. In that time, I’ve learned a lot about what works… and what don’t. A few years ago, I decided to take what I know about web site building and put it to use selling products online.
Earning some extra cash was certainly one of my goals, but, learning was my main mission. I already have a full-time job that I like and have no intention of giving it up.
I wanted to see for myself what it would take in time, energy and money to get a profitable store up and running. I wanted to see what worked, what was necessary and what was pure bologna.
At one point I had seven very active and profitable webstores in operation. Each targeted a specific niche market and used different techniques and strategies to achieve sales success. All were built with open source (free) software and used free or very low cost advertising.
We enjoyed a pretty good level of success and consistently earned a few hundred bucks every week. Not too shabby for a part time gig.

My intentions are to reveal what I learned along the way. I want to make it clear that e-store101.com is not here to sell you stuff. There’s really not that much in the line of paid services you need and others are better equipped to provide you with those things.
On these pages, I hope to share with you the lessons I learned along the way. These are not theories or guesses .. they are the things that I’ve personally used to build profitable webstores.
